Saskia: It's a terribly cliched thing to say after a birthday, but goodness little lady, you seem to have grown up almost overnight.
Félix: Damp curls, open doors and shirt-free dining: hello summer evenings. You haven't eaten 'dish' dinners for months now but we have found that a taster plate with an emphasis on crunchy veggies and fruit is a winner.

Saskia: On the eve of your birthday, a cake with your cousins. 4 years ago we snuggled with you in the birth centre bed, our first night all together. We haven't stopped looking at you in wonder.
Félix: I love this goofy, humorous side of you that is sneaking out.

Saskia: It always ends in body painting.
Félix: In the end, you were more interested in the hand washing water bucket. Anything to do with agua.

Saskia: The most beautiful bloom amongst the flowers.
Félix: Your first fringe trim. JanMa couldn't help herself.

Saskia: You are a careful and thoughtful painter. But I love that its sometimes gets a bit wild. This soon turned into whole-hand painting. Never lose your wild, darling girl.
Félix: I 'nana, I 'nana. Pees.

Saskia: Things you love at the moment: drawing, milo (always) and pikelets, Tinkerbell (about the only thing you'll watch for your Friday movie night treat, except for the obvious, Frozen), Ernie plays the Didgeridoo (or any books in this fabulous Alison Lester series), talking about going on holidays to the beach or London or 'Square Times' (NYC), Mama's music (Regina Spektor) and dressing up.
Félix: Fruit. Fruit. And more fruit.

Saskia: The classic preschool fundraiser. I hope yours lasts as long as mine, Sass. It's a treasure, my little artist.
Félix: You ran and ran and ran all over the Eucalyptus Lawn, chasing balls, children, and the last rays of the day.
