Saskia: You gasped when you saw Aunty Tab in her wedding dress and threw your arms around your Daddy. You haven't stopped drawing weddings ever since.
Félix: Welcome to the topless toddler taco shop.

Saskia: You sat very patiently and sewed clothes on your little bear, quietly reminding yourself, under then over, under then over.
Félix: Sometimes we go to Stand by Me for a cheeky cinco after we've dropped Sassy off at Montessori. I love these little dates with you. Precious time for me to watch you, and for you to bask in my full attention.

Saskia: Not a bad spot to wait for your fish and chips.
Félix: Spotting boats from the best seat in the house. At our favourite holiday restaurant, Fisherman's Wharf, Woy Woy.

Saskia: So the tramp at the holiday house has been a hit, but the surprise winner? The cold outdoor shower!
Félix: A glimpse of a teen here?

Saskia: Occasionally at the markets Grandfather might buy you a crepe with chocolate sauce and sprinkles. You delight in picking every last sprinkle off the plate.
Félix: Aside from a few fringe trims from JanMa we've never cut your hair. Because, oh, those curls.

Saskia: I love the bounce in your step. Never lose that buoyacy, my football-loving ballerina.
Félix: John gave you this digger one afternoon and it didn't leave your side for a good week. You played in the garden with it, slept with it and ate with it. Hardly took your eyes off it.

Saskia: Daddy and Grandfather gifted you some lego sets at Christmas and you are hooked. You were very quick to pick up the instructions and we marvelled at your focus.
Félix: You love the ritual of going to the market. Pies and eggs, then sausages, macarons (Grandfather's treat for you and Sass), apples and orange juice and finally, papusas (and a punnet of strawberries for you) in the courtyard.

Saskia: You don't often have the chance to play with your brother's train set. Thank goodness for naps.
Félix: I love the way you play with playdough; poking holes, a curious face and lots of snakes.

Saskia: Exploring the wetlands at Tidbinbilla. You were a very enthusiastic 'spotter' of 'little creatures'.
Félix: Wet curls and bare bottoms after sprinkler runs at JanMa's. The magic of summer.

Saskia: You're a believer. Checking to see if Rudolph and Santa found the glass of milk, biscuits and carrots you carefully laid out for them.
Félix: Drippy, birthday paddle pop on a windy visit to the Yacht Club. And delicious chubby toddler hands.
